Q. How close is the beach?
A. We are the only hotel in Port Douglas that overlooks Four Mile Beach. Less than 40 metres you will have your toes in the sand. Enjoy a leisurely stroll or hire a bike. Sit back and relax – enjoy a good book whilst listening to the waves or just gazing out to the sparkling azure blue waters of the Coral Sea.
Q. Where is the closest Supermarket?
A. The local FoodWorks is within a 3 minute walk and Coles Supermarket is within easy walking distance in Macrossan Street.
Q. What about restaurants and shops?
A. There is a wide selection of restaurants and cafes to choose from – al fresco style to fine dining. Numerous excellent boutiques, galleries and gift shops to satisfy those looking for ‘retail therapy’.
Q. Do you have a lift?
A. There is lift access to all upper levels.
Q. Are you part of a hotel group and what is your Star Rating?
A. The Peninsula Boutique Hotel Port Douglas is officially rated 4.5* by the Australian Tourism Body – AAA Tourism. The hotel is independently owned and operated.
Q. Is car parking provided?
A. Complimentary undercover parking is available on-site.
Q. Do you offer transfers?
A. The Peninsula provides complimentary seat in coach arrival transfer from Cairns Airport domestic and international terminals for stays of three or more nights. This may differ if your booking is part of a package or special offer. We can arrange either a Sedan Upgrade or Limousine plus Private Charters. Please enquire for cost of private transfers.
Q. Do you have internet access?
A. We have an internet Lobby on the ground floor. Wireless/Cable broadband is also available in all suites for those with their own laptop. Direct dial and ISSD telephone in each suite. We provide a once only 2 hour complimentary internet voucher on arrival per stay. Additional internet connectivity is availablae at $10 per day, or $55 per 7 night stay. Vouchers can be purchased at reception or online.
Q. Do you have room service?
A. Food and beverage is available from the Room Service Menu in each suite during our restaurant opening hours.
Q. How often is our room cleaned/serviced?
A. A daily maid service is included in your tariff. A mid stay service is provided in some packages and promotional offers from time to time.
Q. What clothing should I pack for my stay?
A. Casual light clothing is suitable year round. From mid June to mid September, a light wrap or sweater and long pants may be needed in the evenings. Port Douglas is very relaxed; smart casual wear is accepted in all restaurants and bars. For the ladies a sundress orwrap – casual is just perfect. For the romantics – your ‘special’ dress will not be out of place. Four Mile Beach is perfect for those wanting that morning exercise or quiet stroll so bring your exercise clothes. Pool/Beach towels are available complimentary from reception.
Q. Do you have laundry facilities?
A. A complimentary guest laundry is located on each level including laundry detergent.
Q. What type of entertainment facilities are in the apartment?
A. LCD Flat screen TV, Austar Cable TV, DVD Player and Stereo player. Complimentary DVD’s available during reception hours.
Q. Is it safe to swim at the beach?
A. You are able to swim at the beach all year round, but during the months November -May, everyone is advised to swim in the only swimming enclosure in Port Douglas , located 100 metres from our hotel, adjacent to the to the Surf Patrolled area.
Q. We want to stay somewhere where it is quiet?
A. The Peninsula is NOT located on Davidson Street, the major road into Port Douglas. Located on the Esplanade just around the corner from Macrossan Street at the beach end. Nightclubs and noisy Pubs are at the far end of Macrossan Street towards Anzac Park.
Q. Do you have the facilities for group bookings and functions?
A. Our Hi Tide Restaurant caters for all types of gatherings including Cocktail Receptions, Family reunions and that special occasion gathering. Contact our Wedding and Group Bookings co-ordinator for more information and group accommodation enquiries.
Unseasonal sunny warm days have allowed visitors to do all their favourite things like visiting the Great Barrier Reef to enjoy some leisurely snorkelling.
